As part of our commitment to collect and disseminate Olympic knowledge, the IOC Olympic Studies Centre supports academic research with a humanities or social sciences perspective. Since 1999 we have funded projects conducted by a total of 150 PhD students and established researchers from around the world through our Research Grant Programmes.ADVANCED RESEARCH The results of seven projects covering priority fields of research identified by the IOC will be delivered in June. Reflecting the diversity of IOC activities, grant holders are working on the contribution of sport and Olympians to society, youth perception of the Olympics and their sport practice, the protection of athletesÕ health and their post-career and Olympic Games legacy.PHD RESEARCH Seven research projects by PhD students have been awarded grants this year, two of them on topics of specific interest to the National Olympic Committees of their country.
