As a founding member of the modern Olympic Movement, Hungary has been inspired by sport for over 120 years. Hosting the 2024 Olympic Games in Budapest will further energise our nation, the Olympic family and inspire other like-minded ambitious cities to consider hosting future Games.As the Olympic Movement breaks new ground, Budapest 2024 will be the first Olympic Games to be held in dynamic central Europe – reinforcing the aspirations of the IOC.Budapest 2024 will be a festival – a celebration of sport, of cultures and minds, exciting and inspiring all generations across the globe. The Games will showcase sporting excellence and endeavour – uniting our city and country in an authentic celebration of Olympic values. Our Games concept is interwoven with the fabric of our historic yet contemporary city. The majestic Danube, the connecting artery of Budapest and the region, will be a central Games stage.Our legacy plans will deliver improved recreation, education and healthy lifestyles. They will also provide accommodation to those who need it most, promoting the city as a model of sustainable development. Holding the 2024 Olympic Games in Budapest will mark a significant milestone for Hungary. The Games will herald an exciting future both for Hungary and the modern Olympic Movement.BUDAPESTParis 2024 will see a new vision of Olympism in action, delivered in a unique spirit of international celebration.We will offer one of the world’s most inspirational cities as a memorable stage for the athletes – and a truly global platform to promote them, and their incredible stories.And we will partner with the entire Olympic family to demonstrate that, more than ever after an extremely challenging period, sport has a unique power to help create a better world.Our plan features 95 per cent existing or temporary venues, and every single one has a clear, defined legacy aligned with the city’s long-term development plans.
