Day 2, 18 October 2017: Precious cargoes from the EastThe great East India Trading companies of the Dutch, Portuguese and British brought wonderful luxury goods to the Royal Courts of Europe and beyond, notably porcelain and silk from China, lacquer and rather different porcelain from Japan, and a range of desirable textiles from India.
