PYEONGCHANG
MOUNTAIN CLUSTER
Serving as the focal point of the
Games, the PyeongChang Mountain
Cluster contains seven competition
venues – as well as the Olympic
Stadium – and will stage a total
of 10 disciplines, ranging from
skeleton to freestyle skiing
OLYMPIC SLIDING CENTRE
Up to 7,000 people will be able to
catch the action at the newly opened
Olympic Sliding Centre, which will
stage the luge, bobsleigh and skeleton
events. The track was built using the
latest sustainable technologies, and
measures 2,018 metres in length –
commemorating this memorable year
for PyeongChang. After the Games,
the facility will operate as the only
year-round, indoor ice training track
in Asia, and will be used primarily by
elite athletes from the Korea National
Sport University.
PYEONGCHANG
OLYMPIC STADIUM
This 35,000-seater arena will host the
Opening and Closing Ceremonies and is
the main attraction of the PyeongChang
Olympic Plaza. Its striking pentagonal
design makes it a worthy centrepiece of
the Games, while the Medal Plaza – also
part of the Olympic Plaza – will allow up
to 4,000 fans to witness the victorious
athletes take to the podium.
