PyeongChang 2018 will be the
Republic of Korea’s fi rst Olympic
Winter Games, and its fi rst Games
of any kind since the capital city of
Seoul hosted the summer Games in
1988. Those Games are still celebrated
for helping to increase the country’s
global profi le, highlighting its impressive
social and economic development.
