In the framework of the 2017/2018 edition of the Advanced Olympic Research Grant Programme, the IOC Olympic Studies Centre (OSC) has funded seven research projects, underlining their academic quality and relevance for the strategic and operational activities of the IOC administration and the Olympic Movement. The projects cover the following topics: educational support to elite athletes; Olympic media; sport participation legacy from the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018; female sports role models; impacts of the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lillehammer 2016 and Lausanne 2020; and self-compassion as a deterrent to using performance-enhancing drugs. These grants will allow the researchers to carry out their projects, benefit from exchanges with the IOC and, if relevant, access the OSC’s collections in Lausanne.
