“I don’t know much about PyeongChang; I have never been to the Republic of Korea and I don’t know the track. It will be my third Olympic Winter Games and I’m looking forward to them. I will prepare as usual – as best as I can and as hard as possible. I’ll give my best in training and every competition between now and then and we will have to see what will happen in 2018.”OLYMPIC SUCCESSDRIVE“In the summer, our training is fortunately very varied. For the most part we work on weightlifting for strength, speed training and coordination. In the winter, however, it is all luge, luge, luge and also some weightlifting for power conservation.”TRAINING“When I qualified for my first winter Games in 2010, it was like a big dream coming true because I had the chance to represent Germany in the biggest sporting event in the world. I was so excited to compete in Vancouver and I’m still very proud of my bronze medal. But the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 were almost perfect for me. I’ll be an Olympic champion for the rest of my life and whenever I see my medals I feel just completely happy. As far as sport goes, it was the best time of my life up to now.”“I’ve achieved everything you can in luge. I’m Olympic and world champion and I have won the overall World Cup [four times in a row]. There’s nothing more to reach for, but I know the feeling of winning the gold medal; the feeling of giving everything in training and in races; and the feeling of standing there at the end, receiving the medal and hearing the German anthem. It is an indescribable feeling and I just want that again and again.”PYEONGCHANGFollow Natalie on the IOC Olympic AthletesÕ HubOLYMPIC REVIEW 57DESTINATION PYEONGCHANG
