Iv‡n Garc’aOne of the many privileges is meeting outstanding and unique athletes and people @rafaelnadal Mexican diver and YOG graduate Iv‡n Garc’a is star-struck when he runs into Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal in the Olympic Village2 AugustJuan Mart’n del PotroThus ended the most amazing week of my life. #GraciasJuan Mart’n del Potro reflects on winning a silver medal for Argentina in the men’s singles tennis event14 AugustItÕs been fun talking to the other athletes about what they do, what the similarities are between sports, and a lot of things are on the mental side. I feel like IÕve got a lot of questions about golf and what we do. People are very interested. They are excited that we are here.ItÕs inspiring to watch fellow US athletes do well, compete and get a medal. To see what someone like RICKIE FOWLERUSA, golfMichael Phelps has done over numerous years and to see what Katie Ledecky is doing right now is inspiring. You get chills watching them when they win, when they do well, and it just kind of pushes you to want to do the best that you can. To actually be here as an Olympian and get to play in the Olympic Games while those guys are here as well, itÕs a fun feeling.I practised very, very hard. It took a lot of persistence and perseverance to be able to stand here. This is my first time at the Olympic Games, so I am very happy to win a gold medal and bring it back to Thailand.SUKANYA SRISURATThailand, women’s weightlifting 58kg gold medallistOLYMPIC REVIEW 57
