The whole school spent two days working with Karenza Jackson, a local printmaker, to produce monoprints linked to topics in school. These were framed and the Year Five children helped organise an art exhibition. There was even classical music chosen by the children, and a catalogue of works. The children enjoyed their experience of running a gallery and it is hoped that in addition to developing printing across the whole school, it will encourage more of the local community to visit art galleries in the future. The support of this annual exhibition is the major event in the Society’s Young Arts Programme. The Society has been celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
