Or that 90 Church Trails were started or fi nished during the year, while £200,000 was donated to Young Arts projects by Areas and Societies? Let us celebrate our fantastic volunteers! The Marsh Christian Trust Awards for Volunteering with NADFAS are a great way of doing just that. Awarded annually, they are your chance to celebrate fellow members who are working hard to deliver amazing projects in the community. The awards are divided into two categories for each area of volunteering so you can nominate an individual and/ or a group for their work in Church Recording, Church Trails, Heritage Volunteering or Young Arts.Entries are judged by a panel comprised of leading members of the Marsh Christian Trust and NADFAS. The awards will be presented at the AGM in Birmingham on May 17, 2017. Entrants will be judged on the impact they have had, and their contribution in helping conserve our heritage, deliver Church Recording or Church Trails, or encourage and enhance people’s appreciation and understanding of the arts and heritage. The Marsh Christian Trust was founded in 1981 by Brian Marsh as a grant-making body. Over the past 30 years, the trust has developed an awards scheme to provide recognition and reward those who modestly work to improve peoples’ lives and the world in which we live. Recipients of Marsh Awards are always people who make a difference by selfl essly contributing their time and energy to what they believe in.Any member of NADFAS can make nominations, as can a curator, archivist, churchwarden, property manager or project leader who has NADFAS members currently volunteering for them. For more details or to nominate please complete the online form at www.nadfas.net/marsh-award by January 27, 2017. ■*(assuming a pay rate of £14.95/hr, source: UK mean hourly earnings excluding overtime).
